Angela Sweetman (Owner)

Angela has built an excellent reputation with her creative ideas, eye for design and impeccable attention to detail. Her enthusiastic personality, combined with a genuine commitment to making every event flawless, has made her a sought-after wedding, proposal and event planner. Prior to A Sweet Event, she was an on-air dj for Bend Radio Group for 6 years. In 2005 Angela joined Star Productions Djs after she used them for a special event...her wedding! She decided it was time to join a team of fun and professional DJ's to take her career to the next level. She became one of Central Oregon's Top Female DJ's. In 2006 she started her own business as a special event planner "A Sweet Event" .

Angela was raised in Central Oregon, graduated from Mountain View High School in 1996, received a degree in TV/Radio Broadcasting from Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1998, and a Certificate of Completion in Wedding & Event Planning in 2003. She spent 3 years taking business management and hospitality classes at Central Oregon Community College. Angela has lived and traveled abroad to Venezuela, Connecticut, New York, Lake Tahoe and then a couple years in Portland before settling back down in Bend, Oregon in 2002 to start a family.

Angela also spent time with engaged couples as Macy's Bridal Consultant and worked at Brasada Ranch as an event assistant.

In her free time, she enjoys playing softball, snowboarding, spending time with family, loves to help with community events and coming up with new and innovative wedding workshops throughout the year. She is a proud member of the Central Oregon Event Professionals Association.

Angela Dundas (Event Assistant)

Angela has recently joined A Sweet Event. As a lifelong resident of Bend, it holds a very special place in her heart. She believes that Central Oregon has some of the most gorgeous locations and spectacular backdrops she has seen. Planning weddings and events for friends and family has been her passion for a long time. She also loves bringing handmade touches to arts & crafts, like favors and invitations to a bride’s big day. It delivers a feeling of pride for her.

She graduated Mountain View High School in 2000 and received her AAS in Business – Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Mgmt. in 2008. In 2009, she became an ordained minister and she is very excited to try her hand at writing and creating ceremonies as well as performing them. In 2010 she opened an in home daycare “Monkey’n Around Childcare”. This has given her the freedom to stay home with her daughter and focus on the things she really loves to do. Reliable, trust worthy, hard working and creative are all words Angela and her friends would say to describe her. She is confident we can make your big day a beautiful & memorable one… You won’t be disappointed!

Shannon Lee (Event Assistant)

Shannon has a passion for creative parties and entertaining.  It’s no wonder at an early age she decided what better place for creativity and entertaining then a wedding?! After finishing college at Fort Lewis in Durango Colorado where she earned her degree in Marketing and Tourism/Hospitality she headed straight to Summit County to work for Copper Mountain Resort.  Her dream of becoming a “professional” ski bum was soon realized!

While at Copper Mountain Shannon was in charge of the leisure groups such as ski groups and ski teams in the winter followed by weddings, conference groups and musical events such as Copper Country, where acts like Big and Rich and Willie Nelson preformed heating up the cool summit county nights during the summer. After working at Copper Mountain she was recruited to help manage and fundraiser for a local ski team, Team Summit. There she oversaw the membership, fundraising and business development for the team and their 350 competitive athletes.

Last year she finally moved back to Bend, Oregon where her heart was stolen 10 years ago by the beauty of the area, wonderful friends and the love of her life.  Since returning to Bend, she has not lost any speed and jumped right in to assisting couples with their big day in Central Oregon.  When she’s not a work or on Pinterest, she’s enjoying the outdoors with her main squeeze and their dog Doug.
